Frieze from the Temple of Apollo Sosianos

My PhD research focused upon questioning how religious landscapes were constructed by individual temples at Ostia Antica, Rome’s ancient port, through the the practice of processional rituals. I developed a novel approach to visualise areas of processional movement that integrated our archaeological understanding of processional rituals with space syntax, urban network analysis, and agent-based modelling methodologies.
